Terms of Service
Last updated: August 25, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the SchoolPTO platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including organization administrators and members.
2. Description of Service
SchoolPTO provides a platform for parent-teacher organizations to manage membership, a private family directory, events, volunteer sign-ups, fundraising campaigns, and email newsletters.
3. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
- You may not share your account with others or create accounts for anyone other than yourself (organization administrators may create accounts on behalf of their organization).
4. Organization Administrators
Organization administrators who use the Service agree to:
- Provide accurate information about their organization and membership tiers
- Set appropriate membership, event, and refund policies for their organization
- Comply with applicable laws regarding member and student data privacy
- Use the platform in a manner consistent with their organization's policies
5. Members
- Parents or guardians join a membership and may add family members through the platform.
- By joining, you agree to the specific membership terms, and any event or ticketing terms, set by your organization.
- You are responsible for ensuring that all information provided about your family is accurate.
- Membership tiers, event capacity, and volunteer opportunities may be limited and are available on a first-come basis.
6. Payments & Fees
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
- Membership dues, event ticket prices, and donation amounts are set by each organization and paid directly to that organization's own Stripe account.
- SchoolPTO charges organizations a platform subscription fee; we do not add our own charge on top of a member's dues, ticket, or donation payment. Stripe's own payment-processing fees still apply and are set by Stripe.
- Refunds are subject to the policy set by the organization. Stripe processing fees are generally non-refundable.
- SchoolPTO does not hold member funds on behalf of an organization.
7. Cancellations & Refunds
Each organization sets its own membership and event refund policy. Paid event tickets are refunded at the organization's discretion; free RSVPs and volunteer sign-ups can generally be cancelled directly by the member.
If an organization cancels a paid event, attendees will receive a refund according to that organization's stated policy, less any non-refundable processing fees.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Upload malicious code or content
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service without permission

10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We are not responsible for the content, quality, or conduct of any organization, event, or campaign hosted on the platform.
